Year CPR Training
On Monday 16 March 2026, year 6 students had the opportunity to participate in a CPR training and information session. It was a great opportunity for them to learn and develop the fundamentals of this life-saving skill.
Manning Zone Open Rugby League Trials 2026
On Friday 13 March 2026, Chatham Public School had six students represent at the Manning Zone Open Rugby League Trials in Tuncurry. Congratulations to all students however a special mention to Lewis 5/6 Platypus on his selection for the next round on Wednesday 1 April in Newcastle.
Intensive Swimming Scheme 2026
During the week commencing Monday 2 March 2026, twenty enthusiastic Year 2 students took part in the NSW School Swimming and Water Safety Program at the Manning Aquatic Leisure Centre. This comprehensive five-day learn-to-swim initiative is specially designed for public school students who are not yet confident swimming 25 metres.
The program focuses on building water confidence, safety awareness, and essential survival skills. Our students participated in two lessons each day throughout the week, eagerly improving their swimming abilities.
Hockey Gala Day 2026
On8 Wednesday 4 March 2026, Mrs. Alley and Miss Emma accompanied nineteen Stage 2 and Stage 3 students to a Hockey Gala Day in Taree. The students learned a variety of skills and demonstrated great sportsmanship. Everyone involved was truly impressive, showing tremendous effort and enthusiasm despite the hot weather conditions. The Stage 3 students won one game, while the Stage 2 students also secured a victory.
Buderus League Star Challenge 2026
On 3 March 2026, two Stage 3 teams represented our school with outstanding performances at the Danny Buderus League Stars Challenge held at Old Bar. Both teams played four games each and impressively finished the day undefeated. Their display of teamwork, skill and sportsmanship was truly commendable
Zone Swimming Carnival 2026
Four students proudly represented Chatham Public School at the Zone Swimming Carnival on Thursday 27 February, showing determination and doing their very best in all of their races. Congratulations to Aria 3/4 Emu, Lewis 5/6 Platypus, Zara 3/4 Shark and Hannah 5/6 Flying Fox.
Swimming Carnival 2026
On Wednesday 18 February 2026, forty students boarded a bus with staff and travelled to the Nabiac Swimming Pool for the annual swimming carnival.
Students showed their swimming skills competing in the 50m freestyle, 50m breaststroke, 50m backstroke and the 100m freestyle.
Camp Elim Excursion
On Tuesday, 16 December 2025, Stage 2 students had the opportunity to travel to Booti Booti National Park in Forster, where they visited Camp Elim and took part in a range of challenges including the giant swing, canoeing, and archery. Throughout the experience, students pushed beyond their comfort zones and demonstrated courage and resilience.
End of Year Concert 2025
Lights, Camera, Chatham!!
On Thursday 11 December, Chatham Public School celebrated 2025 with an End of Year Concert - Lights, Camera, Chatham! All students contributed to this wonderful event with our parents/carers and families proudly applauding each act.
Annual School Presentation 2025
On Wednesday 3 December, Chatham Public School hosted its Annual School Presentation to recognise students who have demonstrated hard work and outstanding achievements over the year. Congratulations to all of these students.
Saltwater Excursion Years 3-6
Students from Years 3-6 had the opportunity to attend a cultural excursion to Saltwater on Tuesday 25 November 2025, to increase their knowledge about the local Biripi culture and increase their understanding of Saltwater as a significant site.
Stage 3 Camp
On Monday 3 November 2025, stage 3 students had the opportunity to attend a 3 day excursion to The Great Aussie Bush Camp in Karuah. They successfully completed tasks such as the giant swing, they tackled mud world, conquered the high ropes and mastered canoeing.
Beach to Bush Surf Lifesaving Visit
On Thursday 6 November 2025, students were fortunate to meet the team from Beach to Bush Surf Lifesaving to learn important beach and water safety messages.
Wyatt competes at State .... again!
Congratulations to Wyatt 2W on her outstanding performance at the PSSA State Athletics in Sydney on Thursday 23 October 2025. Wyatt came first in her 100m heat, placing her 10th overall.
Responsible Pet Program 2025
On Friday 24 October 2025, the Responsible Pet Program visited students in KN and K/1S. Students learnt about how to care for pets and the responsibility that goes along with owning a pet.
Grandparents Day 2025
On Monday 27 October 2025, students at Chatham Public School were fortunate to share the morning with many of their grandparents. Grandparents visited classrooms and enjoyed morning tea, much to the delight of the students.
Latrell Mitchell Visit 2025
On Friday 19 September 2025, we were incredibly fortunate to welcome NRL South Sydney star Latrell Mitchell to our school. His visit was a memorable highlight for students—especially after learning that Latrell himself once attended Chatham Public School.
Olympians Visit 2025
On Friday 12 September, we were honoured to welcome the NSW Olympics Unleashed team as part of their Sydney 2000, 25th Anniversary Roadshow.
Olympians Shelley Gorman (basketball), Nathan Katz (judo), and Alexandra Croak (diving and gymnastics) joined us for a special assembly, where they shared their journeys, spoke about the dedication required to be an elite athlete, and inspired students with practical ways to apply those principles in everyday life. They also generously took time to sign autographs for both staff and students.
Deadly Doors 2025
We were fortunate to have Corey Saunders visit our school on Friday 5 September 2025, to listen to students share the stories and ideas behind their 'Deadly Doors'. The doors brought a vibrant burst of colour and creativity to our school corridors, while also deepening our appreciation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives. Congratulations to all classes for their deadly efforts—the results were truly inspiring!
Souths Cares Visit 2025
On Friday 29 August 2025, we were incredibly fortunate to welcome Erin and her team from Souths Cares. They emphasised to students the significance of leading a healthy lifestyle through practices such as nutritious eating, getting enough sleep, and staying active.
